Professional Learning Courses 2012

Welcome to Mana Education Centre Professional Development Programme for 2012. This programme provides a wide range of practical workshops and seminars to support all staff wanting to engage in professional and personal development.

Search for courses by school type, i.e. Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary and then choose the relevant learning area. Courses are listed chronologically.

Courses

Enrolment Procedures
Please read carefully before registering for courses.
Enrolments may be made by fax, email, post or in person at Mana Education Centre.
Enrol early to avoid disappointment. This also enables us to confirm the course.
Once course is confirmed as going ahead, confirmation will be faxed to your school.
If you do NOT receive confirmation please contact the Course Administrator: courses@manaeducationcentre.org.nz

MEC Memberships
Discounts are available for course registrations to MEC members.
There are school or individual memberships available.
Members can also apply for the $1000 MEC professional development scholarships.

Course Costs
Costing of each course varies according to: length of course; facilitator fee, travel and accommodation; advertising and administration; catering; photocopying & materials; operational expenditure; venue; GST.
Some courses will not have a member discount due to costing structures.

Payment
Schools will be invoiced once a course has been confirmed (dependent on registration numbers). Individuals need to pay the Centre in advance by cheque, cash or credit card.

Course Cancellations
In the event of a course being cancelled by MEC, any payments made will be refunded or the fee may be transferred to another course.

Withdrawals
Refunds will not be made unless notification is received at least 14 days prior to the course date. For international presenters and conferences, notice of withdrawal must be made 30 days prior to the start date.
If a withdrawal is made within the stated time period, due to exceptional circumstances, a refund will be made less an administration fee of 25% of the total course fee.
We recommend that you send a replacement staff member in this event.
As course viability is dependent on enrolments, full fees are payable for non attendance as per the terms and conditions.
Enrolment in a course constitutes acceptance of this policy.

Special Food Requirements (Lunch)
Special food requirements must be notified to MEC on enrolment.
